Nevertheless, He waits for me to become convinced of my need for Him and for me to ask Him to change my heart. Only He can replace my selfishness with generosity, my doubt with faith, my stubbornness with willingness. He is the only one who has the power to make such a dramatic change in my disposition or nature. If I am going to have a pure heart as well as clean hands, I must petition the Lord to create such a heart in me.
